Tisha B’Av - the 9th day of the month of Av

The Jewish day of mourning for the destruction of the Temple

by the Babylonians in 586BCE & the Romans in 70CE.

Quite literally, the end of the world to the Jews of those times.

We also commemorate other tragedies that occurred throughout Jewish History.

The day is observed through fasting, prayers, remembrance & reflection.

8:50 - 10:00pm MA’ARIV with a special Havdalah in the Sanctuary

The Book of Lamentations is read by candlelight (while those who can, sit on the floor).
